CLUB SPORTS
Marywood University offers a wide variety of sports clubs that can be considered the first step towards future varsity sponsorship. The actual nature of the club is determined by student interest and can take a variety of forms (i.e. recreational, competition, pre-varsity, etc.).
Each year, Marywood University's Athletics and Recreation Department offers several Club Sport programs. Student interest generates the Club Sport offerings each year. For the first full athletic season, the student group must show desirable interest and participation by involving itself in active competition with other club teams from academic institutions. The student group will be responsible for all expenses involved (i.e. equipment, travel, jerseys, etc) and administrative responsibilities (i.e. scheduling, etc.).
Each participating group member will be asked to sign a waiver releasing the University from any liability responsibilities. The University will not be responsible for any medical expenses involving an injury. All participants are required to have a personal insurance plan for all medical coverage.
During any and all club sport contests, the students will be representing Marywood University. Proper conduct, attire and sportsmanship will be mandated. If an infraction occurs, at a home or away contest, the students will be full responsible for any damages and/or expenses involved. If the infraction involves misconduct, proper retribution to the slighted person(s) must occur in verbal and written form. Away sites will be made fully aware of this policy prior to competition.
