Intramurals

Marywood is guided by the belief that recreational opportunities are vital to the collegiate experience. Intramurals provide excellent opportunities for socialization and interaction among students, faculty and staff. Thus we offer diverse opportunities in competitive and recreational activities including a varied selection of more than thirty intramural programs. Offerings include traditional activities such as basketball, volleyball, and floor hockey and more unique ones including frisbee, golf and inner tube water polo.

Marywood also sponsors several club sports such as running, cheerleading, dance, boxing, Pep Band, aquatics, and activity clubs such as karate, ski, and outdoor adventure. In addition, there are free aerobic classes, both land and water, for students and a variety of fitness, martial arts, and recreation classes.

Our facilities complement these athletic and recreational opportunities. Opened in the Fall of 2006, the Mellow Center for Athletics and Wellness includes a 5,000 square-foot fitness center, a rock-climbing wall, the 1,500-seat Insalaco Arena with an elevated running track, two classrooms for Health and Physical Education, a Dance/Aerobic Studio, a Hall of Fame/Conference room, an Athletic Training room and Athletic Training Lab, as well as eight locker rooms. The Health and Physical Education Center includes a 25 meter swimming pool, racquetball courts, aerobic room, gymnasium, and saunas. As evidence of our commitment to sports, we recently developed two new multipurpose athletic fields. Additional outdoor facilities include tennis courts, a running course, a sand volleyball court, basketball courts, horseshoe pit, and soccer field.
