Facilities

Marywood is also guided by the belief that recreational opportunities are vital to the collegiate experience. Thus we offer diverse opportunities in this area including a varied selection of more than forty intramural programs and a variety of fitness, aerobic, martial arts, and recreation classes.

The $14 million Robert J. Mellow Center for Athletics and Wellness opened in the fall of 2006.  The Mellow Center offers state-of-the-art fitness, recreation, and athletic opportunities and includes a premier fitness center, climbing wall, elevated running track, dance/aerobic studio, the 1,500 season Insalaco Arena to showcase Pacers sports, and high-tech athletic training areas.

Outdoor athletic facilities include six tennis courts, a sand volleyball court and basketball courts.  The baseball and softball fields are some of the finest in the region and the multipurpose natural grass field has undergone a major renovation which includes laser-leveling, an irrigation system and a new grass mixture.  A $2.13 million multipurpose synthetic turf facility opened in July 2009 and is utilized by many outdoor sports as well as recreation programs.

A new Aquatics Center, inclusive of eight lanes, one and three meter diving boards, spectator seating and team rooms, opened in May 2011.  This center caps off a five-year, $25 million dollar campaign to improve Marywood's athletic facilities.

Marywood's Athletic Facilities can be rented by outside groups and organizations. For rental accommodations and pricing of athletic facilities, please contact the Office of Conference and Event Services at (570) 961-4781.
