Burke, D'Achille Capture CSAC Player of the Week Honors
Burke goes unbeaten; D'Achille wins Gwynedd-Mercy Invitational
Lindsay Burke and Diana D'Achille were honored by the CSAC today.
Aston, PA – Marywood University’s women’s tennis player Lindsey Burke was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference Player of the Week and cross country runner Diana D’Achille was honored as the CSAC’s Runner of the Week according to an announcement made today by the commissioner’s office.
Burke, a junior from Yorktown, NY was named CSAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week after going undefeated on the week in singles and doubles for the Pacers. Against Lancaster Bible College at the number two singles position she picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win after an 8-3 doubles win. In a CSAC match-up against Immaculata University the junior won her singles match at the number 4 position 6-0, 6-2. Burke ended the week by sweeping her matches against Mount Saint Mary College winning her doubles match 8-1 and her singles match 6-2, 6-0.
D’Achille a freshman from Denville, NJ was honored as the conference’s Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week after winning the Gwynedd-Mercy Invitational on Saturday with a time of 19:35, setting a new course record. The time was the 10th best in Marywood program history on a 5K course. The first-year runner also helped lead the Pacers’ to a 5-runner time of 64:26 in their season-opening meet with the University of Scranton last Wednesday.
