Scranton, PA - Marywood University topped Immaculata University 9-0 to earn their second consecutive shutout to start the season . The win moves Marywood to 2-0 and 1-0 in conference play while the match was Immaculata's first of the season.
Freshman Caili Nizamis (Baldwinsville, NY) opened her collegiate career with a 6-2, 6-3 win at the top singles flight. Ashley Karli (Blandon, PA) followed with a 6-0, 6-0 win at two singles for Marywood and Erika Von Zup (Tannersville, PA) won by the same score at five-singles.
Nizamis and Karli teammed for an 8-2 win at the top doubles flight while Kara Hoff (Montoursville, PA) and Melissa Hudock (Pitman, NJ) won 8-0 at two-doubles. The Pacers picked up default wins at six singles and three doubles.
Marywood returns to action Sunday at 1:00 pm when they host Mount Saint Mary College in non-conference action.
