Frank Abruzzini and Megan Foy have been tabbed as assistant men's and women's lacrosse coaches, respectively.
Scranton, PA – Frank Abruzzini and Megan Foy have joined the Marywood University athletics department as assistant lacrosse coaches in an announcement made by Dr. Mary Jo Gunning, Director of Athletics and Recreation. Abruzzini will join Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Mic Grant on the sidelines for the 2010-11 academic year while Foy will join up with Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach Rob Brooks.

Frank Abruzzini enters his first year as the Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Marywood University. A four-year assistant coach with the Saint Michael's (Vermont) men's lacrosse program, Abruzzini served as the team's offensive coordinator in 2009 and 2008 after two years (2006 & 2007) as the program’s defensive coordinator.

Abruzzini helped lead Saint Michael's to consecutive winning seasons in his first two years with the squad, and three consecutive .500-or-better seasons during his time with the program. He shaped the Purple Knights into one of the Northeast-10 Conference's best defensive squads.
As an undergraduate at Saint Joseph's University, Abruzzini played midfield, earning the honor of captain his senior year. He was a versatile player for the NCAA Division I Hawks, playing both offensive and defensive midfield, man-up, man-down, face-offs and wing-play. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance in 2006.

St. Michael’s reached two Northeast-10 Conference semifinal games during Abruzzini’s tenure while in 2010 the team’s offense finished ranked fourth in Division II in extra man scoring and second in the Northeast-10 in shooting percentage.

Foy comes to Marywood after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from York College of Pennsylvania where she was a four year member of the Spartan’s program and captained the team in both 2009 and 2010.

In 2009 Foy tallied 34 goals, 53 ground balls and 28 caused-turnovers, ranking her second on the team in each category. She currently holds the record for ground balls in a single game after picking up nine in a game versus Frostburg State in 2008. Foy is also among the top five in the categories of ground balls, free-position goals and caused turnovers for the Spartan’s individual season records. For caused turnovers and free-position goals, Foy ranks among the career leaders as well.

A graduate of Toms River High School North in New Jersey, Foy was a member of the four-time Class A-South Conference Championship team. She captained the program in 2005-06 and was awarded First Team All-County accolades that year.

Foy has served as a coach in several capacities even as she excelled on the collegiate playing field. From 2004-2006 Foy worked with the Ocean Lacrosse Club in Toms River as both an assistant and head coach. Foy then worked with the Green Turtle Lacrosse Club in Maryland as an assistant coach in 2009 before serving as the Head Girl’s Lacrosse Coach of the 2015 age group with Ravens Lacrosse Club in Baltimore in 2010.
