Three Pacers Garner CSAC Weekly Honors
Roerden named Player of the Week, Brennan and Chilson earn Honor Roll recognition.
William Roerden, Kaitlyn Brennan, and Greg Chilson were each honored by the CSAC today.
Aston, PA – Three Marywood University student-athletes have been honored by the Colonial States Athletic Conference today for their athletic performances during the past week. Men’s lacrosse attackman William Roerden was named the CSAC Player of the Week, while softball designated player Kaitlyn Brennan and men’s tennis player Greg Chilson were named to their respective sports’ Player of the Week Honor Roll.
Roerden (Warwick, NY) was named The CSAC’s Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for the second time this season, matching the honor he received for the week ending March 28th. The junior attackman scored four goals and added one assist for five points in an 11-5 win over Susquehanna University on Wednesday. Roerden the recorded a team-high four points on one goal and three assists in a 9-7 win over Centenary College on Saturday as Pacers set a new program record for wins in a season as the Marywood improved to 11-3 on the year.
Kaitlyn Brennan (Taylor, PA) earned her second weekly honor of the year after being named to this week’s CSAC Softball Player of the Week Honor Roll. The sophomore designated player, who was earned Pitcher of the Week Honor Roll recognition for the week ending April 11th, went 11-for-15 at the plate (.733) with four doubles, three triples and eight RBIs to lead Marywood to a 3-0 CSAC week. Brennan ended the week with a slugging percentage of 1.400, scored six runs, and only struck out twice.
Chilson (Mountainside, NJ) also picked up his second weekly honor of the season after being named to the Men’s Tennis Player of the Week Honor Roll this week after helping Marywood clinch the top seed in the upcoming CSAC tournament with a #1 singles 6-0, 6-0 win over GMC opponent in the only singles match of the week. The junior, who was named the Player of the Week for the week ending March 21st, also went 1-0 at #1 doubles play with an 8-2 win.
