Baseball Handed Sixth Straight Setback
Marywood falls at Misericordia, 16-7
Josh Plisko had two hits, including a solo homer, but Marywood fell at Misericordia Monday
Box Score
Dallas, PA - Misericordia University scored 16 runs on 17 hits and handed Marywood University their sixth straight defeat as the host Cougars improved to 15-14 with a 16-7 win over the Pacers Monday afternoon in non-conference action. The Pacers fall to 11-18 with the loss.
The Cougars would plate 15 of their runs over the first four innings as Marywood starter Tim Freda (Westbury, NY) allowed ten runs on nine hits before leaving the game after three and a third innings of work.
Marywood got just one hit through the first three innings of play and finally got within scoring position in the fourth when Ryan Cusomato (Sparta, NJ) doubled to start the inning, moved to third on a ground out and scored on a Mike Castellano (Brooklyn, NY) RBI single. That rally was short lived, however, as the Cougars responded with six runs in the bottom half of the inning to put the game out of reach.
Marywood had three players with a double on the day as Cusomato, Nicholas Pasqualichio (Clarks Summit, PA) and Castellano all hit two-baggers. T.J. Czerw (Scranton, PA) hit a triple, and Josh Plisko (Moosic, PA) had two hits including a solo homer in the eighth to lead Marywood.
The Pacers return to action Wednesday when they host Moravian College at 4:00 pm in non-conference action.
