Habich Garners CSAC Player of the Week Honors
Junior goalie's solid play leads Pacers to 3-0 record to open the season
Jesse Habich was named the CSAC Player of the Week after leading Marywood to a 3-0 week.
Aston, PA – Marywood University men’s lacrosse player Jesse Habich has been named the Colonial States Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending March 7th according to an announcement made today by the commissioner’s office. The junior goalie turned in three outstanding performances in the Pacers’ cage to help Marywood open the season with a 3-0 record.
Habich (Broomall, PA) posted a 4.08 goals against average for the week and a .765 save percentage after making 39 saves while playing all but three and half minutes in between Marywood’s pipes as the Pacers opened the season with three wins. In last Sunday’s season-opening 13-3 win over Randolph College, Habich made 10 saves in 56-plus minutes while collecting two groundballs.
The junior netminder would prove to be the difference in the Pacers’ next two contests, leading Marywood to wins despite the Pacers being out-shot in both contests. In Wednesday’s 7-4 win over Virginia Wesleyan, Habich was credited with 10 saves and one groundball. On Saturday afternoon, Habich was outstanding once again, making 19 saves as Marywood edged Muhlenberg College 6-5 to complete the week with three victories, all on the road.
Marywood returns to action on Wednesday afternoon when they take on Morrisville State College in a non-conference game scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in Morrisville, NY.
