Pacers Impressive at Paul Short Invitational
Marywood places 11th in 6K race, tops among CSAC schools
Lauren Rustad ran the 17th best time in Marywood history in Friday's Paul Short Invitational to help lead the Pacers to an 11th place finish.

Bethlehem, PA – Marywood University’s women’s cross country team placed 11th out of 32 teams in Friday afternoon’s Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University. The Pacers, who finished with 332 points, fell just seven points shy of a top-ten finish and were best among Colonial States Athletic Conference schools competing in the 6K race.
Sophomore Lauren Rustad (West Chester, PA) led Marywood with a time of 24:24, placing her 52nd overall out of 248 runners. Rustad's time was the 17th fastest by a Marywood runner in a 6K in program history. Freshman Stephanie Bender (Albrightsville, PA) followed 10 seconds later with 62nd place finish, 19th best in Pacer history.
Senior Colleen Spring (Binghamton, NY) was the Pacers’ third finisher, crossing the stripe in 67th place with a time of 24:40 and freshmen Kelsey Dunn (Waldwick, NJ) and Sarah Bauer (Rockaway, NJ) tied for the 75th position after both completed the course in 24:47.
Freshman Jessica McCauley (Gouldsboro, PA) rounded out Marywood’s finishers with a time of 26:37, placing her in 147th place.
Marywood will return to action next Saturday when they travel to Center Valley, PA to compete in the DeSales University Invitational.
