Sprenkle Paces Marywood at Paul Short Invitational
Freshman records fastest time in an 8K for the Pacers since 2004.

Bethlehem, PA – Marywood University’s men’s cross country team placed 22nd out of 29 teams in Friday afternoon’s Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University after finishing the event with 648 points. Freshman Eric Sprenkle recorded the fastest 8K time by a Marywood runner since 2004 to place 92nd overall in the 245-runner race.
Sprenkle (York, PA) completed the 8K course with a time of 28:15, the 15th best in Marywood history, to lead the Pacers, who finished just behind local CSAC rival Keystone College. Brian Lewis (Scranton, PA) was the second Pacer to cross the finish line, placing 113th with a time of 28:25, the 24th best time by a Marywood runner in program history.
David Marra (Tannersville, PA) ran a 28:57 to come home 130th place while Kenny Burdick (Taylor, PA) finished 152nd overall with a time of 30:02. Damon Giambrone (New Hope, PA) rounded out Marywood’s scoring runners with a time of 30:30, giving him a 161st place finish.
The Pacers will compete in the DeSales University Invitational next Saturday in Center Valley, PA.
