Aston, PA- Marywood University's women's tennis team has been picked to finish third in the Colonial States Athletic Conference this season according to a balloting of the conference's coaches released today. The Pacers went 7-3 in conference play last season and qualified for the CSAC playoffs where they were eliminated in the semifinals by Gwynedd-Mercy College, who was selected at this year's pre-season favorite.

Scranton, PA - Marywood University has become official members of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), America's largest sporting conference. Dr. Mary Jo Gunning, Director of Athletics and Recreation, made the announcement today. Marywood, members of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC), becomes members of the nation's largest athletic conference and only multi-divisional conference, with approximately 300 member institutions ranging across 16 states from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois.

Scranton, PA - Playing in their only official match of the spring semester, Marywood University fell to local non-conference rival Misericordia University by a score of 6-3 in women's tennis action Saturday afternoon in Scranton.  Marywood closes their 2009-2010 campaign with a 7-8 overall record while the Cougars will head into the MAC Freedom Conference playoffs sporting a 9-6 mark.

Scranton, PA – Marywood University won the inaugural spring women’s tennis tournament after claiming 9 of 12 first place awards from two different flights. The Pacers competed against King’s College and Keystone College in the first annual Marywood Women’s Tennis Invitational this past Saturday.  Marywood scored 38 points, Kings scored 21 points, and Keystone 19 points.

Scranton, PA – Two former Marywood University athletic standouts were inducted as the 14th class of honorees into Marywood University’s prestigious Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, February 6, 2010 on the University’s campus. Anthony Mauro and Beth Eisenhower Fuller were selected for induction by the University’s Hall of Fame Committee and approved by Marywood University President Sister Anne Munley, IHM, Ph.D.

Aston, PA – 66 Marywood University student-athletes have been named to the 2009 CSAC Fall All-Academic Team according to an announcement made today by the commissioner’s office, the most of the conference’s 12 institutions. All seven of Marywood’s fall sports teams placed at least five student-athletes on the squad which recognizes excellence on the field as well as in the classroom.

Philadelphia, PA - Marywood University had early leads in all three doubles matches but Gwynedd-Mercy College battled back in each and advanced to the Colonial States Athletic Conference women's tennis championship match Sunday with a 5-0 win over the Pacers Saturday afternoon at the HealthPlex Tennis Comlpex outside of Philadelphia.  Marywood closes their season with a 7-7 mark while the Griffins improve to 16-2 on the year.

Aston, PA - Marywood University women’s tennis players Kellie Coleman, Jessica Brogna, and Beth Schneider have earned Colonial States Athletic Conference recognition according to an announcement made today by the commissioner’s office. Coleman and Brogna garnered Honorable Mention All-Conference Doubles honors while Schneider was the Pacers’ recipient of the CSAC Sportsmanship Award.
