Aston, Pa. - Marywood University's men's soccer team has been picked to finish fourth in the Colonial States Athletic Conference this season according to the pre-season coaches' poll which was released today. The Pacers captured 74 points in the poll after posting a 7-9-2 record in 2009, finishing fourth in the conference with a 5-3-1 CSAC mark and qualifying for the conference playoffs.

Scranton, PA - Marywood University has become official members of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), America's largest sporting conference. Dr. Mary Jo Gunning, Director of Athletics and Recreation, made the announcement today. Marywood, members of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC), becomes members of the nation's largest athletic conference and only multi-divisional conference, with approximately 300 member institutions ranging across 16 states from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois.

Los Angeles, CA – Marywood University men’s soccer player Ryan Jones has been selected to the Jewish Sport Review’s 2009 Men’s Soccer All-America Team which was released in the January/February 2010 issue of the Review. Jones is one of just 13 players from NCAA Divisions II and III named to the squad.

Aston, PA – 66 Marywood University student-athletes have been named to the 2009 CSAC Fall All-Academic Team according to an announcement made today by the commissioner’s office, the most of the conference’s 12 institutions. All seven of Marywood’s fall sports teams placed at least five student-athletes on the squad which recognizes excellence on the field as well as in the classroom.

Scranton, PA – Marywood University men’s soccer goalkeeper Jared El Gayeh has finished nationally ranked in two statistical categories according to the final NCAA Division III National Ranking Summary which was recently released. A Second Team All-Conference selection for the second straight year, El Gayeh finished ranked in goals-against-average and save percentage.

Scranton, PA – Gwynedd-Mercy College’s Chris Playford scored a pair of goals and the Griffins held off a furious late second half rally by Marywood University to pick up a 2-1 win in the first round of the Colonial States Athletic Conference men’s soccer playoffs on Tuesday evening. Gwynedd-Mercy, now 8-9-3 on the season, advances to the CSAC semifinals where they will take on top-seeded Cabrini College.

Aston, PA – Four Marywood University men’s soccer players have earned year-end honors as the Colonial States Athletic Conference announced the recipients of the Player, Rookie, and Coach of the Year; First, Second and Honorable Mention All-Conference teams and individual sportsmanship awards today. Ryan Jones and Brett Megee became the first Marywood men's players to named First Team All-Conference in program history.  Additionally, Jared El Gayeh earned Second Team All-Conference recognition while Joshua Hicks was named Marywood’s recipient of the CSAC Sportsmanship Award.

Aston, PA – Neumann University scored a goal in the 33rd minute of Saturday’s Colonial States Athletic Conference game against Marywood University and made it stand, dealing the Pacers their second-straight 1-0 loss. With the win, the Knights improve to 9-7-2 on the season and 7-1-1 in the CSAC while Marywood ends the regular season with a 7-8-2 overall record and 5-3-1 mark in conference play.

Scranton, PA – Immaculata University got a goal in the 10th minute of Wednesday’s Colonial States Athletic Conference men’s soccer match-up with Marywood University and hung on to notch a 1-0 win over the Pacers. With the win the Mighty Macs move into a tie for third place with Marywood in the conference as both sides now sport 5-2-1 CSAC records.
