Scranton, PA - Marywood University has become official members of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), America's largest sporting conference. Dr. Mary Jo Gunning, Director of Athletics and Recreation, made the announcement today. Marywood, members of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC), becomes members of the nation's largest athletic conference and only multi-divisional conference, with approximately 300 member institutions ranging across 16 states from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois.

Aston, PA - 66 Marywood University student-athletes have been named to the 2009 CSAC Fall All-Academic Team according to an announcement made today by the commissioner's office, the most of the conference's 12 institutions. All seven of Marywood's fall sports teams placed at least five student-athletes on the squad which recognizes excellence on the field as well as in the classroom.

11.14.09 | Men's Cross Country
Bethlehem, PA - Marywood University had four runners break the 30-minute barrier as the Pacers finished in 34th place at the NCAA Regional Cross Country meet held in Bethlehem Saturday morning.  The 2009 CSAC Runner-up Pacers had the third best finish of any CSAC school, finishing behind only Gwynedd-Mercy (12th place) and Keystone College (29th place).  Eric Sprenkle led the way for the Pacers with a 118th place finish.  Chris Marker and Jeramie Parker from Allegheny College finished one-two respectively to help the Gators bring home the team title.

11.10.09 | Men's Cross Country
Immaculata, PA – Marywood University’s men’s cross country team placed five runners in the top-20 on their way to a second place finish in Saturday’s Colonial States Athletic Conference Championships hosted Saturday by Immaculata University. The Pacers finished the morning with 59 points in the 8K race to finish runner-up behind Gwynedd-Mercy College.

10.17.09 | Men's Cross Country
Gettysburg, PA – Marywood University’s men’s cross country team placed 20th out of 25 teams at Saturday’s Gettysburg Invitational. The Pacers, who picked up 549 points on the day, were lead by Eric Sprenkle, who ran a 28:50 to finish 95th overall out of 316 runners in the 8K race, Marywood’s final tune-up before the CSAC Championships in two weeks.

10.11.09 | Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country
Scranton, PA – Marywood University head cross country coach Kevin Borrelli won his second-straight Steamtown Marathon on Sunday after completing the 26.2 mile course in 2 hours, 25 minutes, and 42 seconds. Borrelli finished 41 seconds ahead of runner-up Jeffrey McCabe and has now won the prestigious local marathon both times in which he has competed in the race.

Center Valley, PA – Marywood University’s men’s cross country team placed 17th out of 27 schools in Saturday’s DeSales University Invitational. The Pacers picked up 427 points in the 8K race and were led by Eric Sprenkle’s 71st place finish in the 282-runner event.

10.2.09 | Men's Cross Country
Bethlehem, PA – Marywood University’s men’s cross country team placed 22nd out of 29 teams in Friday afternoon’s Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University after finishing the event with 648 points. Freshman Eric Sprenkle recorded the fastest 8K time by a Marywood runner since 2004 to place 92nd overall in the 245-runner race.

Dallas, PA – Marywood University’s men’s cross country team placed seventh out of eleven teams at Misericordia University’s Cougar Classic after picking up 198 points in Saturday’s race. Eric Sprenkle led the Pacers with a time of 29:48 to finish 40th out of 123 runners competing in the 8K event.
