Philosophy of the Athletic training Program
The purpose of the athletic training program at Marywood University is to provide medical services to the school’s intercollegiate student-athletes. This includes, but is not limited to, injury prevention and conditioning; injury recognition, evaluation and referral; injury treatment and rehabilitation; and documentation of athletic injuries. The present and future welfare of the athlete will always be the priority in the actions of the Athletic Training Staff. No staff member will discriminate against any athlete because of race, sex, athletic ability, or sport. Visiting athletes will be shown the same considerations as Marywood University athletes. The certified athletic trainer is also to act as a liaison between the athlete and team or personal physician.
